The curriculum for Hastings elementary art students was developed with the Minnesota state standards for visual art as the foundation. The standards ensure that students receive instruction in the areas of artistic concepts/ideas, art production, and art appreciation.
Art instruction at Kennedy is designed to gradually expose students to new materials, skills, and ideas that build their confidence and allow them to express their creativity.
