About Mrs. Bachman

Rachel Family

Welcome to Room 120; First Grade at Kennedy Elementary.  I am so happy you are here!
My name is Mrs. Rachel Bachman.

Education:  I graduated from Park High School in Cottage Grove in 2001, Minnesota State University, Mankato in 2006 with a degree in Elementary Education and a Minor in Pre-Primary Education and Concordia, St. Paul in 2011 with a Master's Degree in Differentiated Instruction.  Learning is a passion of mine and I love sharing that with your child each day.  We never stop learning and learning is fun!

Teaching career:  This will be my 11th year of teaching and my 10th year in First Grade!  My first two years of teaching were spent in Fort Myers, Florida teaching first grade.  When I moved back to be closer to my family, I taught one year of Kindergarten at Tilden in Hastings and then moved to First Grade at Kennedy, where I've been ever since.  I have a passion for first grade and the learning and development that takes place in our classroom.

Family:  I live with my husband Justin, our son Beckett who is 2 and our dog, Maple.

Hobbies:  When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my son and husband, shopping at Target, drinking Caribou coffee (to keep up with the 2 year old!), exercising, being outside and traveling!

Get ready for an amazingly exiting, busy and FUN year of learning and growth!  Your child will grow so much academically, physically and socially.  First grade is an amazing ride and I'm so glad we are on it together.
